Today I would like to provide a list of frequently asked questions. These can be found everywhere on the Internet. Hiring managers ask these questions all the time because they are not sure what else to ask.
What should you do with this information? Write down your answers to these questions in advance, while you have time and you are not under pressure. What would you say? Then edit your answers until they sound good. Then practice saying them over and over until you sound great.
Bottom line, the interview process is a two way street. The company is looking for a good match and you are looking to see if the company meets your needs. If you answer the questions well during the interview you have time for important things like:
- Evaluate the company and the people you meet. Do you like them? Would you like to work here? What are the hidden issues – maybe problems you can solve or aspects of the company you don’t like.
- Build rapport with the people you meet. You can only do this if you are calm and relaxed. By being prepared you will be calm and relaxed, able to focus on relationships instead of handling basic questions off the top of your head.
The questions are easy. The answers are a personal reflection of you who are and what you want. Figure it out in advance and you will have an advantage!
