Sylvia is a career consultant with significant experience in career transition training and consulting and also previous experience in Human Resources (HR) within a variety of industries. Her background includes working as an independent consultant with experience in career transition counseling, training and development, and other HR related activities. Previous corporate experience includes employment/recruitment, training and development, compensation, and benefits administration.
Sylvia is dedicated to assisting individuals going through career transition as she has experienced downsizing herself in her career due to business closedowns and company acquisitions. She provides hands-on applications to assist job candidates in preparing for interviews by conducting mock interviews and providing constructive feedback to those participants. She has also assisted hundreds of individuals write resumes which appropriately market their skills and abilities during career transition.
She is certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, which assists individuals in understanding different personality styles and behaviors. She is also trained in behavioral interviewing techniques which are currently utilized on a frequent basis by many companies during job interviews. Her educational background includes an MS degree in Human Resources Management from LaRoche College and a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. She has a philosophy towards continuous and life-long learning and has attended, as well as developed and delivered, an extensive number of training programs.
